If you or your ancestors emigrated from Czechoslovakia and were stripped of Czech citizenship, there is a way to get it back. Read more to find out what benefits you might get. In some cases, you can also get Czech citizenship if your direct ancestors were Czech.
What benefits can the Czech citizenship bring?
There are obvious benefits of obtaining another citizenship. Basically, you can enjoy rights under two legal systems, such as the right to reside, work, and study in both states, travel freely between the two countries without requiring a visa, or enjoy diplomatic protection of two states abroad. Why have it all once if you can have it twice?

But, actually, in the case of the Czech Republic, you can have some of the rights not twice but 27 times! Why is that?

The Czech Republic is a member state of the European Union. If you hold citizenship of one of the EU member states, you automatically get a special "European Union citizenship"

No need for visa, work or permanent residency permits. You can even study for free if the study programmes in the given member state are free for its citizens or hold property in another country. You'll also have acces to health care benefits of another EU state if you fall within the health insurance system in the Czech Republic. Isn't that tempting?
