The story of this family spans four generations and nearly a century
It all began before World War II, when two young Czechoslovak citizens, the clients’ great-grandmother and her future husband, fled their homeland and found refuge in the United Kingdom. They built a life in England, where they married and had a daughter. Although she was born on British soil, she inherited Czechoslovak citizenship through both of her parents.
That daughter later gave birth to our client – and for most of his life, he had no idea that he too was entitled to Czech citizenship. When he reached out to us, we helped him and his mother reclaim their Czech citizenship.
The story didn’t end there
Our client had three children, who were born long after Czechoslovakia had ceased to exist, and they too unknowingly inherited Czech citizenship at birth. One of the things that makes this story so unique is the big age difference between the great-grandmother, who was the last person in the family born in Czechoslovakia, and her great-grandchildren. They were born almost 100 years apart, which shows that citizenship may sometimes be quietly passed down across many generations.
Czechwise against time
We got all three children’s applications for Czech citizenship processed in a month. This has given them a strong connection to the Czech Republic and the opportunity to connect with the culture of their ancestors. One of the many hallmarks of our work is that we always act with precision, speed and professionalism.
Your Czech Heritage Is Closer Than You Think
This inspiring story shows that even after nearly a century and several generations abroad, it’s never too late to rediscover your Czech heritage.
