About Us

The team behind your Czech citizenship journey.

A dedicated practice focused exclusively on Czech citizenship,  combining experience, precision, and a personal approach.

Why We’re Not Just Another Citizenship Agency

Czechwise is an attorney-led advisory focused exclusively on Czech citizenship.

We combine legal expertise with a structured, highly personal approach, so your case is handled with both precision and care.

Every Case Is Strategically Prepared

No templates. No generic submissions.

We analyze each case individually, assess risks, and prepare applications with the level of detail Czech authorities expect.

Local Knowledge. Practical Insight.

We are based in the Czech Republic, work in Czech, and understand how citizenship applications are assessed in practice, not just in theory.

Our experience with local offices allows us to anticipate questions before they arise.

Legal Expertise at the Core

Founded by attorneys and built on legal expertise, our team includes licensed lawyers as well as legally trained citizenship specialists.

Every application is prepared with a deep understanding of Czech citizenship law and administrative procedure.

Backup When Needed

When a case requires extra legal precision, we work with trusted attorneys to cover every angle.

Legal representation, where required and agreed, is provided by admitted attorneys within our team.

Efficient Communication with Authorities

What can take months of back-and-forth correspondence through embassies, we often resolve more directly and efficiently on the ground.

Human Approach

We handle the legal complexity.

We explain it clearly.

And we treat every client with respect and personal attention.

Meet the Founders of Czechwise

We believe that citizenship matters deserve personal attention.

We founded Czechwise because we were drawn to the stories behind each application. Family histories rediscovered, children claiming their roots, people returning to a country that has always felt like home. Citizenship is never just a file to us.

As founders, we stay closely involved in every case. Together with our team, we guide individuals and families through the Czech citizenship process with clarity, careful preparation, and steady communication. Every application is handled carefully from the first consultation to the final submission.

Czechwise was built on the idea that we carry the complexity, so you do not have to.

Martina Jirka Pohanková

Martina Jirka Pohanková

Founder | Attorney-at-law

Martina is an attorney specialising in Czech citizenship law and holds a doctoral degree in international law. She is the analytical mind behind many of Czechwise’s most complex cases, with particular expertise in historical citizenship legislation and in tracing often intricate pathways to citizenship. She is always committed to finding a way forward, no matter how challenging a case may be.

What does she do when she is not researching your past? Martina enjoys a good book and hiking to clear her head. She has recently established a small community orchard in her village, planting traditional local fruit varieties and reconnecting with old roots in a different way.

Michaela Garguláková

Founder | Attorney-at-law

Michaela is a Czech attorney-at-law and a co-founder of Czechwise.

Her path to citizenship work began naturally. As an attorney, she was approached by several clients seeking help with Czech citizenship matters. Over time, more requests followed through recommendations from friends and families with Czech roots abroad.

At Czechwise, Michaela oversees the legal and procedural side of each case. She ensures that applications are prepared and submitted correctly, with the proper documentation and attention to detail required by Czech authorities.

Outside of work, Michaela enjoys scuba-diving, reading books, watching films, travelling, and trying new things whenever she gets the chance.

Great colleagues make a great team.

We’re lucky to have these fantastic teammates who make all the difference.

Petra is often the first person clients meet when they step into the world of Czechwise. She guides them through the very beginning of their citizenship journey, helping them understand the process, gather the initial information, and making sure the first steps are clear and well-organized.

Her work at Czechwise also happens largely behind the scenes. Petra helps keep the everyday life of the team running smoothly. In many ways, she helps hold the many threads of Czechwise together so that the team can focus on the work itself.

Outside of work, Petra enjoys spending time with her children and family, reading a good book, and escaping to the forest whenever she can.
